Can anyone give me any information on my cast iron plant stand ? I believe it is Victorian . It is marked " Art Specialty Co., Chicago , ILL . " There is also the number 104 on the underside of the bottom shelf . The underside of the top is marked . " A.S. - 38 - 1 . it is about 28" tall and the top is 10 1/2 " wide and 18" long . The feet look like dog feet . I have looked all over the internet and can not find any information on the company that made it or how old it is . I knew the original owner . She once told me that it had belonged to her mother . It has sat on her front porch for the past 20 years that I know of . The lady passed away five years ago and her daughter and her husband have been living in the house . They moved a few weeks ago and the original owner's great grandchildren threw this away . I asked if I could have it and they gave it to me . It had so many layers of paint that you could not see the detail . I had it sandblasted and repainted it . I was almost breathless when I saw the details . I would like to try and find out how old it is and maybe a little something about the company that made it . Thanks for any help you can give .
p.s. This picture was taken in my work shop . Don't look at the floor . Lol !
That was originally sold as a side table/lamp table. The company was founded in 1932 from what I find on them. I found one the same with original paint on eBay but the auction was over with no bids.
If you look at the price it will be obvious why there were no bids.

I saw the one on E-bay . Mine is a bit different . The feet were not the same and the sides on mine are more ornate . I even e-mailed the seller and they did not know any more than I do . I have also looked at the Art Specialty Co. of ILL. that now makes lamps . I even e-mailed them and asked if the company made other things before they started making lamps in 1932 . No answer so far from them . I believe that this plant stand or table is older than 1932 because of the style of it . The feet are a clue . Also because it is so ornate and has a lot of detail . I just e-mailed one of the Keno Brothers . Maybe he can give me the information .
