I searched High and Low in US Military & Naval internet sites and the Lord knows there's a lot out there but I wasn't able to find this particular insignia or pin anywhere. I was told that the pin could refer to a Hawaii posting (palm trees) but no one recognized it. The tiny Anchor on top is not common in Navy Insignias. There are gold US buttons on the sides of the hat so it is definitely American and the Braiding is top quality. Anyone recognize this Insignia? Thanks everyone. RER(BOB)
Enigma solved...see frisco's links below.

I'm still trying to find information on this Navy or Coast Guard hat. Any ideas anyone? RER (bob)
Insignia is not US military.

Thanks scottvez for your input. BOB
The fact that it is not military, but does have the US buttons on it leads me to think this may be an old Captains, or "Yachting Cap". I did a little searching for you, and it seems that many US companies made these at one time or another. See it this link below will jump start your searching again, and Good Luck.

Your Hat is from the "Isles Yacht Club" in Florida, as per their Burgee flag.

Thank you frisco for the hard work that certainly paid off. The crest and photos do attest to it being the "isle yacht club" logo. The location it was found confirms being from this yacht club. I had picked it up at a consignment/thrift store near there without any info. provided at the time. I always thought that it was a U.S. Navy issue. RER(BOB) Thanks also to W.S, surfdub66 and frisco for the love. BOB
