This is a beautiful but unusual offering from Kamei.
Made from a black glass base (their favorite) that has had opalescent glass in cream, green, pink, and yellow added over it. The resultant decor is I think strong but subtle.
What makes this so unusual is that it has not been clear cased, so it has retained a degree of surface texture and the colours have remained muted.
Ground base and typical flame finished rim.
It is still thick walled like most Japanese glass of this 60s/70s period, just a bit less so than the clear cased glass.
Height 22cm
Very PAINTERLY !!!!
