This is really a pretty piece despite the damage. A rather flat pillow type 10"vase with gilded feet. You just know there had to be a pair at one time, right ? Beautifully hand painted pansies on both sides signed by "Janoshek" in the corner of the front side. It has the look of Nippon but it isn't marked as such. Probably an imported blank painted in Europe. Except for a teeny missing flake by the signature it's not really too noticeable. It's a circular break the encompasses both feet on the one side. The most damage is seen from the bottom where the glue has puddled and dried. Looks like it happened long ago and not recently. For the tax only, such a beauty had to be rescued and will look great with my other Nippon vases. -Mike-
Such a lovely vase, exquisite painting and the dinkiest gold feet I've ever seen!
Thank you sklo42 :)...for the "love" and comment.
It really deserved being saved! Beautiful vase!
Thanks Ken :).... The North Olmsted Goodwill gives you five dollars credit for every hundred points you save up from previous purchases. So the vase was five bucks but you still have to pay the tax which was forty cents. So it was basically free. Which is a good price for a damaged piece.
Thank you freiheit :) ...I think so too. Especially at that price.
