    Found this gas powered iron , in an antique shop in Ruidoso , NM. I had never seen one before, but since then, I have found about 4. This one is in original box, from Sears and Roebucks.

      Never seen one of these before, than you for sharing.. I have seen the flat irons that you put on an open fire. I have seen early electric ones where you get an adapter for your ceiling light. I have also seen pretty decorated French ones and I have seen Coal or peat heated ones where there is space for hot coals in the iron!

      That's a nice one. I don't recall seeing that green color before.

      I have one but the handle is black. The green is very nice....

      Thank you fortapache and toolate2, I know it came out of the Sears Catalogue, but there was no price with the paperwork, so I have no idea what they sold for back then or who was brave enough to use them.
