This I think is my first piece of Carnival glass :-)
I'm unsure what the age & pattern are but its iridescent .orange. 6" w x 2 1/4"h & there are three raised rings & a raIsed middle inside the bowl.
The top looks round looking down on it & the base is six sided ,concave, with a raised centre , tha pattern around the sides looks deco style to me !
Actually looks a bit like sunglasses from the side:-)
It has a rough wavy top rim ..
This cost me 50p :-)
Thanks for looking ..
thanks to TallCakes for the pattern name & number i-d -
SOWERBY 'Hobstar and cut triangles' pattern no. 2411. C1920-30s.. :-)
I know nothing about carnival glass Surf, but I know what I love, and I love this!!! Great color and iridescence!
Thanks Rick55 for your love and kind comments.
Snap m8 !! Neither do I . But I love it too !!
Fenton made similar glass, the colour is about right too. The coloured pieces in greens and other hues are interesting and collectable. They put iron and minerals in the glass mix to achieve these colours. Art Deco would be the period they did this kind of glass.
Oh surfdub, what a great piece of carnival glass! :)
