This was one of the only things I was able to get from my parents' estates that was not taken. The seat was reupholster and the wood was kept original. The first pictures are after the redo but the last two are what the chair looked like when I requested the piece for a inheritance settlement. I know my grandmother owned the chair before my parents. I think it at least goes back to the 1940s if not before? I also think it was own by my grandmother originally new. There was no company name found anywhere on the chair. I hope to make this an heirloom for years to come and pass it to my daughter and grandchildren. It is a solid oak chair (Just not sure if it is mission or arts and craft?) and I am hoping will stand the test of time. Any new information on this unusual looking oak rocking chair you can share would be great. Thanks!

My Mother in-law has a rocker exactly like this one and I was trying to help her determine who made it, its age, and value.

      Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same chair! Unfortunately I don't know anything about it. Have you learned anything?

Pdinkel and rderringer so far no information has come in. I know my grandmother owned the chair in Iowa as early as the 1940s or earlier. I am not sure about the manufacturer. I am glad that others have the pattern of chair so hopefully someone might have more info to give. The chair wasn't a local craftsperson. Thanks for your responses and I will try to let you know anything I find out too.
