I have a 20" Captain January white suit in great condition. It is tagged and is all original except for the ribbon. I have not been able to find this anywhere to put a price on it. Can you possibly give me an idea of value? I made the mistake of selling some very rare outfits this week without realizing it. I really don't want to do the same with this one! :)

Very Very Rare outfit and to have in such fantastic condition ! wow
We don't give prices her on this site but I would say in the several hundred dollar area or more . I am not sure what Shirley doll this will fit . I have never seen this outfit before and have done articles on her . Let me see if I can find it in any of my books . I am referring to one of this age of coarse there are newer versions of this outfit . Yours would date in 1930-40's era by tag

It was part of a lot that I had listed on ebay this weekend. I unknowingly had many rare outfits for 18" and 20" Shirley Compo. An 18' doll was included in this lot and the measurements matched up for a 20" doll in the Navy Blue outfit if that helps.

I can find the one in Navy dated 1936 and book refers t it also being done in White however myself I have not seen the white one . It s missing the neck tie . If mine I would put at auction and if you have more I would suggest the same . Collectors will pay what they feel it is worth however you need to have a starting price and if mine I would start at 200 and let it run at auction . It would be for a composition doll but I suspect one that collected her clothes may choose to just display it .

Thank you! I had done buy it nows over the weekend so I will never do that again! I am just not versed in Shirley dolls, I am more familiar with bisque!

No BIN for rare outfits even common ones in such good condition should go fairly high . Do you have more if so would love you post them to see . Many outfits you only see in books they never come up for sale so no way to compare prices . I have 2 other book besides one I looked in now but I have them packed but when new books come out it is nice to add outfits like this one for reference .

Can you email me at manikin1234@hotmail.com the link to what you sold ?

I just found them and yes you did price some way to low and the condition of them were amazing . The lot you sold should have been at auction . Shirley compo dolls have fallen in price and their clothes but when you find one in near mint condition as yours that is exception . Was a wonderful collection . The Sailor suit will appeal to a smaller crowd because it is not a cute dress but a true collector will want it to complete all outfits .

Live and Learn! I will send you the link! Thank you. Hard to judge price wise because I did do
BIN and they sold in minutes! I am not complaining....of course I am!....I paid low for lot and certainly made a nice profit for my dolly budget. Completed auctions, you will also see the Capt January outfit on there that I ended until I know more info about it.

One can say you made a quick profit and you can look at if you listed for full value it may have taken much longer to sell them. So I would not kick myself to hard :-) Who ever owned this collection prior to you really did not play with clothes much as child . They were very lucky and now they have a new caretaker . I enjoyed seeing all the clothes many that do not come up for sale often and rarely in such great condition . Was one lucky little girl who owned these at one time . Thanks for sharing :-)

I am not kicking too hard! I still made a good profit and the outfits are in the hands of people who truly appreciate them. Funny how things work out and I did get to chat back and forth with many people during this last few days! Thank you for getting back to me and doing what you do! :). I will relist as an Auction, no BIN's for this gal anymore!
