Pair Of Art Nouveau Cachepots By Thomas Forrester & Sons C.1900

With the success of tubelined designs produced at Moorcroft smaller companies tried to replicate their success with their own offerings. This pair of cache pots were made by Thomas Forrester & Sons, Longton, Staffordshire, c.1900.One design theme at this time was the influence of Japanese culture that can be seen here.The black collars on top rims are actually silver plated metal[I will not attempt to bring them back to original-the black works for me!] .Can you imagine strolling along a London street at the turn of the last century and seeing this beautiful pair of silver rimmed matte gold glazed jardinières in the window of a shop? They must have been quite striking! The interiors have a mustard yellow glaze that compliments the gold. They stand 4.24" H, and 9.25" W .
