I know nothing about this item. Can anyone identify its purpose and what it is? It is obviously a hand tool of some sort. The brass bit is a fairly thick needle. It does appear to be discolored at the tip from heating. The round block that the needle passes through also appears to be intended to hold heat. No markings of any that I can see. No history on this item, nor its origin, unfortunately. Ideas?
