Photo one shows a double tube thorn vase with crystal applied feet. It measures about 7 " tall and has twisted hex shaped tubes.

The red lined decor on the thorn vase in photo 1 matches the decor shown on the tall vase in photo 2. The decor on each is a layer of red opaque glass overlaid with oxblood red and white spatter. The tall vase shape in photo 2 and this red lined spatter decor are identified as Ruckl using documentation from the manufacturer, an Antonin Rückl & Sons, Vcelnicka paper label.

    http://www.burchardgalleries.com/auctions/2012/feb1912/01images/l506.htm

This Ruckl label design was registered in 1903 per the Glasmarken Lexicon.

Here's another single tube hexagon shaped red lined oxblood and white thorn vase with applied feet:

Empirical research techniques indicate that these vase shapes (both of them) are another manufacturer. Unfortunately, no labels are used with that attribution. I believe that labels are far more reliable than "expert" guesswork.

There are no related decors or related shapes labeled Welz.

All constructive comment and questions are welcome.

I would love to see the label, unless it is posted somewhere else on here. I must say I am having trouble linking the two decors here - are they the same?

I see the label is in the link - great to see.

Ian, I would love to see a Welz label on a related decor. Can you provide a link?

Of course not, otherwise I would post it here, but I don't think labels are a better guide than sound judgement and reserved thought.

Ian, Are you saying that sound judgement and reserved thought is a better glass attribution tool than primary documentation?

Thank you lisaround2, I'd love to see it and hope to post more red lined spatter glass soon. Here's another hex tube thorn vase shape in the Rückl & Sons red lined spatter decor:

There's absolutely no proof that this décor was made by multiple glashüttes.
