Japanese Inlaid Abalone -MOP Lacquered Panel / 8" x 20" /Circa 20th Century

Found this in the picture stacks at Volunteer's this morning. A beautifully lacquered panel with a really nice landscape created with an inlay of either abalone shell or mother of pearl. It measures 8" x 20" and is in very nice condition. Not sure of the age and there are no marks or labels. I already have a set of four with metal inlay. These are usually made in sets but this one was flying solo. I'll have to keep an eye out for another one. It might even show up in another day or two once production does some more sorting. -Mike-
