Hi
Have this 'pen knife'? Looks and feels really old. Blade slides out when un locked and locks back into handle plus a sort of pick.
Trying to find out more about it? Age what it was used for etc?
Anyone have any ideas?
I think it is for leather work (thick leather as for harness)
My thinking is this is a seaman's knife. It appears to have a marlin hook, and the thumb release would come in handy if you were wearing gloves, in cold weather etc. I don't have time to search for it today, but will give it a shot after Mom's day.

The reference number on the bladed seems to coincide with the first example: RBNi 0/0561/0020.

Being an old Paratrooper myself, this design is the best I have seen to date. The so called US Paratrooper knives (which most were never issued, hence the black market) were absolute "GARBAGE". Myself, and most of my Troops carried a "Buck Skinner Knife", which is a straight blade knife in our boot, with an added 550 cord lanylard which we with we fabricated ourselfs. Your knife is beautiful, hence the 7oo-1,000 dollar price range it sells for today. Congrats to You!
Its nice to have an endorsement from an old Paratrooper. Thanks. Picked up the knife recently in a box of vintage tools. I was actually interested in the tools although was fascinated by the knife which had a sort of presence about it. The knife and myself are actually in the UK (Devon). I am now thinking about trying to trace how it cameabout being in this County.
