my brother-in law spotted a image on the chair /stool

the image looks very old possibly 200/ 300 years old ?
i have no idea really just guessing
please can some on enlighten me
thank you Paul
stunning!! welcome to cw!!
Can't tell you anything about the carvings, but these are commonly called "corner chairs" or "parson's chairs". They were tucked in corners & used when an extra guest showed up.
The decorative technique used to create the indentations is 'pyrography'.
Check out 'Arts & Crafts spinning wheel chair' on Google .
I wouldn't say a milking stool I thought a love stool for when you are day dreaming out the window very nice
Milking stool? Zowie, you just failed Romance 101! LOL!!
Well when I was thinking it I was thinking about waiting for my man to come up the drive. Romance I think I forget what that is anyway. Have a top day blunderbuss2
Might possibly be a "birthing stool?"
