Antique bottle with inverted label

I was hoping someone may help me with this... I'm trying to identify the label on this bottle... I'm guessing the bottle was used for some type of medicine, possibly opium... The label baffles me a bit... I'm guessing maybe it was used or issued for Union soldiers during the American Civil War? Label appears to be inverted as well... Anyone have an idea of what this may be?
