Does anyone have an idea about this little cup? It's only about 3" tall. It looks primitive and that's a real tooth/claw or talon use for a handle. The other 2 are missing. I've never really known what it was or where it came from originally. It was picked up at a flea market a long time ago. No makers marks on it either.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Ok...I hope you are able to see the new pics I added.
It looks like an S Co and then the anchor, lion and k.
There may be another initial or it may be an ampersand above and between the S and Co. Then again, it may be nothing at all.

Have you checked around the lip for any marks ?
I was going to say boar tusks before I red Tall cakes link. That is probably what that handle is.
Thank you vetraio and TallCakes! I had no idea and wasn't able to locate anything either until now, thanks for the link. I would have never really thought the two might be connected. I will also look a bit closer for any markings, sometimes they hide.

If they are there they will be English : four small marks, maybe three.

Now that I just looked on that site, I'm not sure what the letters represent. LOL...love that. Happens more often than I'd like. What do the letters on the cup look like to you? Can you see them well enough? I took the photos thru a magnifying glass.
One last question Kevin, where would I find one that would or could restore this for me??? If I'm able to get this done, I'll show you all the results. At that time I will tell you how I got it. It's pretty special...

The main mark is that Anchor.
You'll find it at point 2 City Marks.
That means it was made and assayed in Birmingham.

The Birmingham page has a list of makers mars in alphabetical order.
The mark on the left of the Anchor is the Maker's Mark.
It is difficult to read but I suspect it is E & Co
Elkington & Co ... the best silversmiths of the period c. 1906.
Ohhhh ok. I actually thought that the first letter looked like a number 8, I knew that couldn't be it. I believe it was made in 1909 is what I thought I read...You get an E out of that huh? Ok. I'll go with that ;).

HAHA I couldn't leave without first checking and it certainly is an E! I ran my fingernail over it so I was sure about that. You are one smart cookie!!!
The last thing to do is to check the date when it was assayed.
It is the last letter on the right.
It is on the Birminham Date Letter Chart at the top of the silver page:
Again it is a bit difficult to read but go to the chart and it will be on the right hand side of the chart.
Is it a 'g', an 'h', an 'i' .... lower case.
This letter will give you the year.
Voila!
