My 1937 Buck Rogers Duo Destroyer rocket & a nice 1955 toy drum set with the TV Hep Cats on the front.
Also, an ad from a Christmas catalog in 1955 showing the cost of the drum set...which most were destroyed within days. They were just thick paper heads that didn't take too much of a beating- which was funny since they are supposed to be beaten..a LOT.
Mine has all heads intact except for a small punch through in the smallest tom tom. Ohio Art Co product.
The drum set was in a drum shop in Kansas City 30 years ago. I was a full time musician at that time & drumming in 2 or 3 bands.
There was a funky diner in town that was going to buy the drums & put on display on their walls. They were paying $150 & I offered to buy it for $175 so it didn't go hang in a greasy eatery.
That greasy eatery, called Lucille's, burned to the ground the following year.
I have saved a piece of toy history..
The Tootsie Toy rocket I picked up at a toy show. Paid a decent penny but I love the ship. 1937.. That's very cool to me, to hold something in my hand that has so many stories to tell.
Cheers & enjoy !
