My father had this in the basement for over 50 years and I remember him telling me he purchased it at auction. It appears to be all brass with the exception of the added Socket and bulb as shown. The overall height of the lantern is 23" and the approximate width is 9". The glass is 2 pieces measuring overall height of 7" and combined width of 17". The flutes on the glass are approximately 5/8" wide. It has 4 brackets to hold it into some type of mount. Just a very interesting lamp which I cannot seem to locate another.

      Ahoy Db50!
That's a nice example of a Russell & Watson ship lantern. Specific to the Great Lakes. Patented in 1875 by H C Felthousen in Buffalo NY. I have a collection of Russell and Watson lanterns including the same exact lantern you shared.
Thanks & Have a Great Day!!
