Recently purchase this doll trunk on Craigslist, first picture is the way it looked when I received it, others are what it looks like now. It is approximately 16 by 9 1/2 and 10 inches tall. I had this one restored by Jim at HMS Antique Trunks. I wanted to have the original gold tone finish restored so contacted Jim; it wasn't something I wanted or knew how to do so went to the expert. This trunk has an interesting embossed swirl design in the metal which looks great in the gold tone. The interior I left as found, the tray and interior show wear but not so much that I felt it needed to be removed. The trunk has a brass lock, patent date March 69. The key was missing, Jim had one, now I can lock my treasures inside. New leather handles were added. All of the hardware is original which looks great cleaned up. I'm very happy to add this one to my growing collection of doll trunks. The exterior looks like it would have the day it was made, it is amazing.
If you have a trunk that you want restored I highly recommend working with Jim. His website address is below, cut and past the address to view his page and contact information.
