I found this pocket knife at a local shop in Reedsport, Oregon. It caught my eye and I just had to buy it. The owner of the store said it was made in the mid to late 1800's. It came with the leather carrying case.
Sterling silver. RW and S is on the blade. And a deer head and antlers engraved on the opposite side.
    Just had to share.

This most likely was a woman's pocket knife that hung on her chatelaine - a loop with a series of chains holding household tools like sewing kit, smelling salts, pocket knife. The clue is the hook - this is a button hook, for button up shoes. (Wasn't sure if the person who sold this to you gave you that info, so I'm just putting it here in case you wondered.)
