I am wondering if anyone knows what this pin is. It was with my uncle's belongings when he died. He was stationed at Yuma Army Air Station in 1944-1945. He was in the Army Air Corps and trained as an aerial gunner, and was temporarily working as an MP (we think) when he was shot and killed. He died on June 2, 1945 after being shot and transported to Kingman Army Hospital. He never served over seas. The pin is about the size of a US dime. I wish I knew more about my uncle's time in the military to help id this pin. I will post if I get any new information.

I have only seen one other image of this pin online and the owner didn't know what it was either. If you know anything about this pin, please contact me.

    Thank you so much!

I have not seen this particular design in a WW2 pin. The pin does have a slight resemblance to the AAC roundel.

A photo of the back may help in determining the era of the pin.

Thanks Scott. I don't have the pin right now, but I will probably have it back in a couple of days and I can post a pic of the back then. The pin itself resembles more of a safety pin then the kind with a separate back. It also says "sterling" on the back, but there are no other markings. I will also check out the AAC pin you mentioned. Could this maybe be a different era? We know so little and it is very frustrating!
