Bible-Safe

The Bible-Safe was bought privately from the Oakes family of Bury St. Edmund in England in 1973. The Oakes family are decendants of Princess Caroline (Murat)Boneparte, napoleons sister , through illigitimacy, Caroline was apparently infertile, and gave her husband the freedom to prove that he was not impotent. The Bible-Safe,s outer material is said to be of turtleshell, the outer dimensions are 18 x 11 x 7 Cm. the inner dimensions are 15.5 x 9 x 4.5 Cm. the inner base is springloaded, to raise the contents, i.e. bible upward when the lock glasp is released an opened. The brass fittings are on both front and back, with the addition on the front side of a brass fitting which entails the lock and keyhole. the Bible-Safe is not locked and the key is missing. I have seen one similar Bible-safe on the Atlas-Antique Website. I am hoping that some one may know who made this Bible-Safe, and any further information that anyone can supply would be greatfully recieved.
