I love Black Forest bears.
Their appeal for me is their teddy bear faces. Like teddies they have their own characters. I love the comic ones, bears with backpacks or smoking pipes etc.
Never in my years of carbooting and charity shops have I come across any, so every now and again I'll treat myself. They don't come cheap so cant do it often.
This ones missing his bowl, which was likely brass or glass, but is adorable, with painted nose, mouth & feet.

I was speaking to a friend just the other day and she revealed she collects black forest bears, and I knew little about them....and here you are with one!!

What a cutie! Now you have to hunt a fitted bowl (maybe a shot glass if small Teddy!)

Maybe even a basket would work? They are always plentiful at Goodwill & thrift stores :)
Hi Joy, it would have to be a small basket, lol. I've never seen baskets:( but then I haven't been looking:) I'll find something to fit him eventually. Until then he'll have to sit with open arms.

His is so cute. I have just posted a brass one about 12 inches in height I believe to be vintage & you don't see many of them around either my partner is in the process of cleaning it at the moment
