The vase was designed by Jan Sylwester Drost,famous Polish glass designer ,working for Zabkowice glassworks,.Many of his designes are in museums and this one is too.
It looks much better in reality ,because of refracting light .I wasn't able to show it in pics.The work of light is a result of crossing grooves - horizontal outside and vertical inside.
It is worth stressing,that all his projects were produced en masse in state-owned glassworks,so they weren't overpriced and were quite easily available.I think,we as a society,weren't aware how close we were with art.

Such a designer! This is very clever - I love the convex sides.
Thank you Karen for your comment.I've learned that to produce this vase ,they built a special mould with an irregular piston what was a big achievement those days.

Hi ..yes it is similar - mine has a clear base....
