This is a very nice old hot glue pot used by furniture makers of old.
Favored by antique restorers also, hide glue needs to be heated for fluidity and ease of application. The main pot is filled with water and kept simmering to heat the inner pot which holds the glue flakes which in turn melt to a liquid. As it cools its gluing nature comes into affect.
