Can anyone help me with what this figurine is? The only information I have is that it was from the estate of an elderly Japanese man whose father brought many treasures with him to the US. I believe it is antique, it has beautiful strong colors, it is porcelain (ceramic) with cloisonné tpe decoration and much gold. It stands 19" high, there are no markings on the bottom, the head seems to be wearing a crown of sorts, there is a large gold disc behind the head, and the figure has some sort of gold disc in the hand. I would really like any information anyone can give me about who or what this might represent or how old it may really be. I also understand the original owner treasured this piece and kept it displayed in a glass case on a pedestal and willed it to our church.
Can anyone help me identify this beautiful piece?
One of the Asian experts will come along later to comment, I just wanted to say it is beautiful. :)
