I have been trying to find out some information about my ladies spittoon and have not been able to find another like it. After extensive online research, I have found only minimal information about the back stamp. the back stamp is a circle with the words Carlsbad Austria and inside that are the initials A.K. I found that A.K is the initials of the man who owned an import company in the U.S. from 1880 to 1884 at which time he sold the company. This spittoon was imported from the Carlsbad Austria area between 1880 and 1884. When the company was sold they continued to use the same back stamp but added Co. to it. I would like to find out more information about it and if anyone has seen a spittoon like this one.
