People collect all sorts of things. It's a bit newer than the type I normally buy, but I've seen people buy (to collect) ones that are newer than this. I don't know what the going rate is, though. The ones I've found in thrift shops/flea markets have been in the $20-40 range in "almost new" condition (usually need a good cleaning). I see people on ebay asking more for the same models (in the same or worse condition), but I don't buy typewriters on ebay (the weight usually drives up the price of shipping).
