I've never heard of Shofu, but i thought these were pretty. The cap is missing on the covered urn or sugarbowl, but the teapot one fits it too. is Shofu anything special?

Hi,
Look here

There are many Shofu items on eBay but almost all of them are clearly marked ``made in occupied Japan`` and although claiming ``hand painted`` they are actually transfer printed. Your teapot is of much better quality and I think it was made during Meiji era,i.e.first half 20th century.

thank you very much IVAN49! very useful info. i thought it was better quality than most i'd seen.
