Hello - I'm looking for information on this old doll I have inherited. She is 18-1/2 inches tall. Her yarn hair is stitched into her head, which I believe is suede. Her facial features are embroidered/stitched. Her body is all cloth. Her clothing is beautifully made - very detailed (her silk dress is torn and tattered). Her stockings and suede shoes are beautifully made. She is unmarked. I thought maybe she was an early French-made boudoir doll, but I can't find any of those with embroidered features (they all seem to be painted).
I found a similar looking doll that was said to be a Dorothy Heizer doll kit doll that was sold through the "Modern Priscilla" magazine in the 1920's. That doll had a very similar body and yarn hair, however, that doll's face was painted, not embroidered.
Does anyone here have any ideas on this doll?
Thank you!!
I love all the detail in the clothing and underclothing. :)
