Antique Japanese Kabuki Doll - can you help

This is one of several items that were donated to our church by an elderly Japanese gentleman from his estate. His father brought these items to the U.S. and they were carefully displayed over the years. I understand this is a Kabuki doll but I don't have any other information at all, hold old it might be, what his very long hair might be made of, his costume appears to be embroidered silk and he is in excellent condition. Any information anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.
