Sometimes you just have to follow those wild "Goose stories". This one was quite the story & quite the trip to finally find it, but after all the wrong turns and detours and getting lost over and over again, we finally found the old Wayne pump standing exactly where we were told it was hiding. That's my wife and traveling companion of 51 years standing by the pump. The Fun is always in the Hunt & especially when you find a cool pump like this in the wild!
Looks like wonderful countryside to get lost in...:-)
In a field? Or roadside
Ha! As my son would say: " it's up in No Tell Canyon". Actually its out on a huge ranch behind some barns and out buildings a long way from the gravel County road that goes closest to the farm. No one would ever stumble across this one as it is hidden from sight when you have directions and permission to go through the gates etc. we had a real hard time finding it & were on the phone with the rancher giving us directions as we went.
Gotcha the fire hydrant threw me off:) was it still operational?
Paying attention pays off. The hydrant is loose & just sitting there but not hooked to anything. Just for looks I guess?
Lovely photo, thanks for share!!
For me, the very best part of your adventures is the companionship of your wife. She obviously loves you and enjoys your company on these quests! THAT is priceless!!
