(1 item)
I have had this item for many years (found in a boot sale). It is a block of red wax, measuring 7.5" x 5", with a hook of rope at the top. It contains various indented shapes of animals, human figures, a cornucopia, a bell, cherries etc. There is something Eastern European or Austrian about it. I assume it's some kind of template, but I think it's a beautiful object, and I have always been intrigued by it. Can anyone tell me what it is? Thank you!
Looks like someone poured wax onto a Springerle Mold.

It is awfully lovely, isn't it? :)

Could homemade butter be poured in, and then patties removed when solid?
IT'S GREAT!
Agree with TA in comment 1 - wax from a wood mold since the designs are "raised". Here's a wood mold;
