Help with any information on this Gold Gilt Tray - Papier Mache Maybe??

Hello, Ive searched and searched trying to find out anything about this small oval tray. I believe it to be papier mache decorated in gold gilt ? but I am not sure. Reverse is marked Wontner & Benson London. I found a little blurb that Wontner & Benson specialized in japanned papier mache in the early 1800s but that's it. Any information would be greatly appreciated as well as any info as to where I may possibly find something on determining its value. Thanks!
