This is a .999 12oz Silver medallion from the 1992 coin convention in Hong Kong. Only 250 were produced and I've never seen another one. I've no idea of it's value or anything else about it. Your help would be appreciated. Please email allan.inlancs@ntlworld.com if you can help.
Thank you.

Hi!
Your coin is a 1992 Convention International Coin Proof Silver medal of 12 oz., obverse "Happy Buddha" "Hong Kong dollars at work" polished silver 12 oz.
One sold for 10000 THB which I believe is about $300.00 in American money.
Hope it helps! ;)
Di
Thanks Di,
I knew what the coin was but I cannot find out anything more about it. I can't even find out anything via Google about the 1992 Convention.
The valuation you suggest surprises me a little as with only 250 produced, I would have thought it a bit more valuable than that.
Thank you for your input, it's much appreciated.
Allan
Hi Allan,
Try this ;)

Of course I'm sure you know to use a browser that has a translate option.
I understand what you mean about value & there being so little of them. Some things just need time to mature & some never do. Let's hope yours does and quickly!
OH I just saw that was 2009, so it might have matured some!
Thanks again Di,
I have an awful lot of Silver coins, quite a few from China including a Peking Opera 2002 rectangle, a 1999 Fan paintings set and a lot of Special Edition Pandas.
I have a rough idea what they are all worth but the Buddha is the exception. No real idea of it's value at all.
Thanks again,
Allan
Allan possibly someone from the foreign auction site can help? Maybe send it to them as an " I AM CONSIDERING putting this up for auction on your site." type of deal. They might give you a current estimated value at least ;)
Di
Thanks, I might do that Di.
You're very helpful and it's nice of you.
Allan
Sure thing Alan, hope you are able to get a good current value! Please let me know if you do!
Di
