Can anyone tell me about this bottle? It came from my mother-in-law who got it sometime in the 1940's. It is about 19-1/2 inches high, including the 5" pointed stopper. About 4 inches up from the bottom, there is a glass wavy line and above that a straight line and then another wavy line. All three embellishments go around the outside of the bottle.

Is it valuable? Who might have made it?

Other than for the purple/amethyst colour and shape, we can't make out the designs on the bottle which would help identify it. Is there a plastic liner on the stopper end or is the stopper very loose that suggests there may have been a liner? If yes, then the bottle could be from the 60's and not the 40's. RER(BOB)

Some more pix might help for an identification. The base and details of the decoration can really be helpful.

Hi, This was made most likely in the mid 60s and can be no later than about 1955. It is described generally as a genie bottle and was made in the Empoli region of Italy. Values vary greatly depending on size, rarety and colour. This is not an uncommon shape. I am currently writing an article on these bottles and should this be for sale i would like to add it to my collection so i cna photograph it with others ones in diffenet colours.

Hi Mark, I have requested to post a more detailed photo of this bottle. After doing some research I'm inclined to agree with you on the origins! I would be interested in reading your article!
