My wife has this sewing machine which dates back to 1909. It is all there. the pedal Case and all. to our knowledge it works but we have never used it. It was her mother's.

We don't know much about Sewing machines so we are at a loss as to what the background from this time is. Can anyone tell us more?

Here is the information on it:

    The serial Number is D965741.

There is a plate that says it was last P attended on June 14,1910

A stamp on the side of the machine says "Rebuilt and Guaranteed by Good Housekeeping Appliances Inc. Cleveland OH.

Let me know what you think.

It's a model 66 from a batch commissioned March 17 1909, which has been refinished in it's current gold, by Good Housekeeping. It was probably originally a treadle. The plate with the 1910 patent date could be a replacement.
