Lots of fakes out there. Do you have some documentation on the piece-- perhaps a period photo of it being displayed or used?
The unit information is in an odd location.
Some close up photos of the stitching, letters, grommets, any markings and of the other side would help in evaluating the flag.

all I know is that his name was james polk craven,amazon sales a book cravens in the civil war he was pow twice fought in Vicksburg the flag is dirty because my dad used to tie it to a stick and run around the yard when he was little he lived to be 85 its been in our family a long time
