    This has puzzled me for years.
    original handle 34 1/2 long
    head is7 1/2 but to nose
    1 1/4 thick @ but

    Great grand dad was a logger. 100 years ago.

      It's a "pickeroon logging tool." They're used to roll logs. I don't know if that really long handled tool with the lobster claw is also a pickeroon, but yours is.

      Search google for "pickeroon logging tool." There're plenty of companies still making them and loads of examples.
