I found this today and wanted to share it you. I don’t really know what it is but it looks rather pretty. It is in very good shape; it doesn’t have any chips or cracks. The painted flowers are very crisp. The only problem is that the gilded rims are faded.
Thanks for looking:)
Thanks so much, aghcollect and AnneLanders:)
That is just stunningly beautiful!!!
Beautiful. It looks like it could be uranium glass
stunning!!!
Thanks so much, katherinescollection. I think the compote has a beautiful colour.
Thanks, SEAN68!
Vintagefran, it is possible. But I cannot test it. I spent about an hour to find out what it is but no luck so far. I came across vaseline glass, some French glass... but nothing close fo far:(

Lovely I have seen this effect before but by darn if I can think of anything at the moment to help you out sorry it does look wonderful in the light when I first seen this type of thing it sort of blew me away a bit you wouldn't think it could change so much be safe
Thanks so much for your comment, Zowie. It looks even nicer in person! I am not good taking photos. I found it at a church sale. They used it to display costume jewelry. I liked it and when I saw the price sticker on it, I kew it was for sale too:)
Have a great day, Zowie!
I keep coming back to this. It's a really pretty compote. I'd bet its uranium too. Very nice & quite rare, I've not seen another one :)
Vintagefran, thanks so much for your comment. When I first got it, I searched on line for close to an hour and couldn't find one like it. I am guessing, too, that it might be uranium glass but I have never seen these pieces in person, only on line, and I cannot test it either, therefore I am really not sure.
Very nice, Something that would match up well with it is Myott L359WB china. I cannot find any pictures of it online, but it is close to Myott 6173. ( the L359WB has gold trim ). I actually have a couple pieces, only reason I would know.
Thanks so much for your comment and the information, Redwire:)
Had to cheat to get here today it wasn't letting me through my link for some reason just a fluke truly. Anyway I was having a relaxing day that day as my mother in-law has just passed & it wasn't expected so heaps was happening at the time but all went well & was glad to see no bickering anywhere you don't often. Especially at funerals it seems to bring out the worst in people for some reason. The dish is truly stunning.
Awesome, love it!!!
Oooh I love jadeite!
This just beautiful!!!!!.. are there no marks at all in the base?.... :-)
Thanks so much for your comment, Zowie. I am sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. I never seem to find the right words in those situations.
Thanks for the thought & not much to say really in times like that it is always awkward I find them same thing I'm just glad it just happened out of the blue & no long term suffering as she didn't deserve that. What I did find out on here death & she never let on she got married on my birthday it spun me out when I found out spinney I thought. My man really loved his mum & his handling it better then I thought he would.
