I found this recently at a thrift store nearby my home. I have absolutely no information on it.
There are several faded and worn stickers on it from, Railway Express Agency. From Ellerbe, N.C.
And 1 sticker labeled: "Ward Line - New York-Cuba-Mexico" with a big F in the middle.
It is very worn leather on the outside. And the inside smells almost like old sewing machine oil. I have no other reference point for the smell. There are 5 compartments on the inside. 3 of those compartments open with a bunch of little off-white rags inside.
The lock is made by Sesamee
There are 2 small silver latches - on the inside of those latches it states:
Aug.Goertz & Co.
Design Patent
March,12,1925
The size is, 10.5 inches tall (as shown in first picture) and 5.5 inches thick if laying on its side (with lid closed)
Any information on this will be very appreciated.
Thank you very much
