Unidentified mark on two silver spoons

I have a couple of what are either silver or silver plated spoons that belonged to my grandmother. They have a mark on the back that is either a V or U over a C. The spoons are 5 3/4" long and the pattern has an oval surrounded by swirls. Pardon my terminology as I'm not very well versed in antique patterns. Does anyone happen to recognize the mark or pattern? Any information, including the age of these spoons would be greatly appreciated
