      Error/typo: dated 1924 not 1925

Cyrillic alphabet, so would be V.I. MAPYSTJEVEKY or something. Any russian-speaking here?

Had a closer look at the letters. Hard to tell if it's russian Belarus, Ukrainian or former Yugoslavia but there is a russian last name, Malysevich, spelled ?????????. The signature is basically the same name, ???????????, i.e. similar pronounciation but spelled differently, hard to tell from which country though.
      V. I. Malyshevich would be the closest translation.

Sorry, it seems CW doesn't like Cyrillic letters.

THANKS OlofZ for your response and translation! Wow that's a revelation to me, here I didn't even realize they were Cyrillic letters. Shows you what I know! Wonder what the meaning of the JHJ or SHS is (below signature on right of the date). I tried some searches of artists with the translated name; so far no match. Might not be a well known artist but the painting is great. THANKS AGAIN!
