The french infusion brand Elephant made advertising tea pots in elephant shape.
You can get one with four buying proofs or order one and pay.
They began this collection in 1981, but I couldn't find an image for it.
As you can see, the cover catch and bottom are now different:

thank you kyratango - those are all very similar, but not exact. i don't think mine is particularly old - sometime in the last 10-20 yrs.
