I bought this singer sewing machine today at a barn sale. I have always wanted one. Wondering if anyone could tell me more about it, like the year it was made or whatever information might be interesting.

nice machine and treadle i have the same machine but mine is not in a treadle i think off the top of my head mine dates to around 1918 . yours is that bit earlier and probably doesnt have a hole in the back to attach a hand crank, not that you would need to. the decals are called Sphinx and i think they were only used on the 27/127 and some model 15 singer machines. it is a vibrating shuttle machine and uses long bobbins which are still pretty easy to get hold of . you can buy a treadle belt for around £5 and they are easy to fit. i would recommend trying it out as treadle sewing is such fun!
