Could anyone tell us where we could find more information about this case?
No where can we find a radio style case..A lot of the suitcase cases have the same type of graphics inside but googling,Ebay, our reference books..no luck..
TIA
This case and Betsy Wetsy were advertised in a magazine along with Deanna Durbin and Ideal Cuddles. Advertised as "Betsy Wetsy outfit... in carrying case with SWISS MUSIC BOX. The craze for music boxes is growing greater year by year, so now Ideal comes forward with this logical idea. The drinking wetting doll now comes with a cradle in which she can be lulled to sleep by the music box playing 'Rock-A-Bye Baby'. Contains 11" Betsy Wetsy doll, with sleeping eyes, all rubber body and complete layette including dress, undies, shoes, stockings, knitted booties, soap, bib and bottle. Carrying case is made of strong basswood covered to represent airplane type luggage, shaped like a portable radio. Snap fasteners and handle. Genuine Swiss Music Box with knob wind. Size of case 7 x 6-1/2 x 13-3/4 inches. Each $3.50"
Included on the same page as this advertisement (photos of Betsy in her radio box) is Princess Beatrix, for whom Ideal also made an identical box (except obviously they were Princess Beatrix graphics).
Here is a link to a sold Beatrix music box.
