Am fast becoming the Snowflake Queen of the South...

And to think I thought it to be Murano!

2 new additions, currently on holiday in another part of the Southern Hemisphere...thank you to the gorgeous Penny for sourcing these for me and all the efforts you have gone to...I think the epitomy of Collecting is the community it creates of like minded ppl who care enough to assist another Collector in their quest. It's not easy being able to find the things you like to collect but even harder to even consider that someone would assist in the way Penny has. That's just about the best part of the community. Not the arguments over attributions, nor who is right or wrong. But it's the old fashioned spirit that ppl like myself and Penny, Karen, Marty and the like are made of. If they find something they know you collect they help in way. We know that if one is bidding or looking at something, we don't compete. It's just old fashioned comrardary and it makes me happy to know that some things have not been lost to the 'now' generation....

So, what do we have here. You'll notice that one is glass footed and the other no base. So by the look of the glass base we could assume that the stlye is 60's. The trouble is with Snowflake we know hardly anything about the styles, the age or anything because they are out of China and limited information available.

The taller one on the left is 21cm and the right is 19cm's.

The lovely Kevin vetraio50 has done quite a bit of research for the faithful but I think for now we have come to a dead end. My next aim would be to find a contact in China, who speaks English, to see if they can enlighten on the styles and designs etc....

    Enjoy..

She's done it again, that beautiful Penny has given us the bottom shot...
So pretty hard to see much when its all encased in clear glass...
I'm wondering, do we have any glass making specialists who can shed light on how this proccess is done? I often wonder as well with a lot of the milk encassed glass vases like the splatter Muranos, Fenton Thomas Webbs etc that I have, exactly how do they do it. The white too on the base is like a spot on my Thomas Webbs, really unsual....look forward to hearing from those in the know...
