Iron Cross. Is it real or is it Memorex? This was given to me by a friend over ten years ago, only because he knew I liked crazy stuff. On one side of the cross it has what looks like a king's crown, a W and the year 1914.
On the other side it has a king's crown, under that the letters, FW, in the middle it has some type of leaf like art and at the bottom it has the year 1813. I would like to know first if it is real, second the value and any history on this specific cross. Any information is greatly appreciated!
Hello, you have an original WW I Iron Cross, but the ribbon and suspension loop are missing. There were quite a few manufacturers of this medal, so you will find minor differences in some of the details such as the crown, oak leaves, etc. The value in this condition would be between $25.00-$50.00 I hope this helps.
