I got these at some Elks Lodge yard sale or some other kind of manly club in Newton, MA. The old guy was a hard bargain but once I got it down to 10 bucks I figured it was fair enough. I knew they were old and I was excited with their condition. I wish I had better pictures. These do no justice to it's beauty but my darn rebel camera broke and the point and shoot just murders it. I wish I could enjoy these more but sadly they are wrapped in bubble wrap until I can build a wall shelf that kitty can't get to.

this isn't parts of USG's States Series. The Dakota pattern was made by Ripley & Co. in 1886, which is several years before USG came to be; tho' Ripley did later join USG, there is no evidence to support USG may have also produced this pattern. I have a couple of the Dakota cake stands on my website.

Dam you Mollie Helen McCain! I see a possible book burning in my future. j/k

Yes, McCain does have some errors; but then all EAPG resource books do seem to have some errors. To her credit USG did make #15013 U.S. Thumbprint c1891-92, which is a bit similar to Dakota.

I'm actually grateful for the book. It's helped me with a few things even though the illustrations could use a little work. But yeah the books old.
