2 Black ethnic cuties in barrels, declare there affection for one another inside in black definitive dialect of past days. The last decade I'd think this would be acceptable would have been the 50s--but certainly still going strong in the 30s and 1940s.
Viewed from the front you would not be aware that opened up the barrel top folds upward and supports their heads which are like coming out of the barrel as are elevated===
The little black characters have the "usual for the times" in derogatory mode, exaggerated huge red lips--and they are coal black in skin tone. They are both 4 1/4 inches high not counting the flipped open.Firm weight "card stock" .
Black man says inside "KAN'T WRITE BLANK VERSE. No! NER FREE VERSE, KAN'T EVEN WRITE THINGS THAT RHYME. STILL AH'LL ASK THE OLD OLD QUESTION...WILL YER BE MA' VALEMTINE"?
The lady says " AH'S SITTIN' HERE SO SOLEMN, AH'S LONESOME FRU AND FRU , AH'D SURELY LIKE TO SEE YER, WUD YER LIKE TO SEE ME,TEW?" Lady has a signature inside and on back amd man has a very light pencil signature inside and back. There are such nice collectibles. What fun!
